A BOOK HIDDEN FROM VIEW

Surely the suicide (spelt h.o.m.i.c.i.d.e.) bomber who thinks he is killing himself and spilling innocent blood in the service of Allah, on the promise of an immediate promotion to a sin-forgiving heaven with seventy virgins at his disposal, is 'translated' not by God's hand but his own, and therefore places himself in a book hidden from view! Perhaps his 'hell' will be an eternal obscurity, just the opposite of our natural desire to be accepted and loved in this life, and ultimately, come into a greater relationship with the family of heaven in the next where 'every book shall lie open to one another.'

THE INGATHERING

Surely God's desire is to gather all humanity to Himself. His hand will 'bind up all our scattered leaves again,’ bringing a great harvest into His heart. He has set up an eternal journal for everyone who obeys His voice. It will contain a story without end. This hope lifts us up out of the mundane and into the unpredictable wonders of eternity. This is why, even though we were all born here, we won't end up here. But, heaven can wait a little longer! #

THE BEAST FROM THE EAST - We spent about three days digging out of the “Beast from the East” which was about four feet of snow, ice and wind here in New Jersey in late February. Even though we were house bound, the kids loved it because it wasn't just a “snow-day" but a “snow-week!” They had the whole week off school. Everything here ground to a halt for a few days while people dug out and the “big melt” took place. Life goes on.

CITY COVENANT COALITION MINISTER'S FORUM - City Covenant Coalition had a Minister's Forum Tuesday, February 12th, to deal with the recent passage of the SONDA (Sexual Orientation Non Discrimination Act) Law. We had a great turnout and response, with between 150-200 pastors and concerned citizens showing up for this important meeting. The SONDA law requires that all businesses and institutions, including churches and Christian schools, hire homosexuals as long as they are qualified for the job and are part of the same denomination and faith. The New Canaan Society, in New Canaan Connecticut, is a group of about 200 men comprised of investment bankers from Wall St, a music company director and even a former ambassador for the Shah of Iran. They meet most Friday mornings for breakfast, inspiration and encouragement. Leader Jim Lane had invited me to speak, sandwiched between Jack Deere and Paul Cain the week before and Jack Hayford the week after. I spoke on the issue of Fatherhood and there was a great response.

Victory Christian Fellowship in Trooper Pennsylvania, has been one of our best supporters since we arrived here in the Northeast of America. Senior Pastor Ed Crenshaw shares a similar vision to ours and has asked us to minister for him several times a year. This great AG church has grown by nearly 30% in the the last year. I ministered in a series of meetings at the end of the month which saw some tremendous fruit as a result. We look forward to partnering with them again.
