JEFF BEACHAM'S
EDITORIAL – Time for a New American Revolution

"We know the race is not to the swift
nor the battle to the strong. ...An Angel rides in the whirlwind and
directs this storm." - John Page, July 20, 1776
INTRODUCTION
There comes a time in the history of some nations,
when they are fast approaching the brink of implosion, that the grass
roots of the population realize that it is almost too late to stop the
slide into anarchy, however, they rally themselves for a last ditch
effort to rescue their nation from possible oblivion. And so America is faced with
this scenario today.
BONDAGE TO BONDAGE
Soon after the first American Revolution,
Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of
Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some
2,000 years earlier:
'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a
permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up
until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves
generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the
majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits
from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will
finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by
a dictatorship.'
TIME OUT
'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning
of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these
nations always progressed through the following sequence: from bondage
to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage
to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency;
from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependence; from dependence
back into bondage.'
What incredible, and almost prophetic, insight
Tyler had some 230 years ago which has frighteningly come to pass in
this nation. For 200 years America stayed true to her God given purpose
of being a gospel light to the world, but beginning with the social
revolution of the Sixties, the last 40 years have seen a slide from
liberty and abundance to complacency and apathy, bringing us today to the
brink of dependence and possible bondage.
WAGGING THE DOG
In a time when laws are changed by unelected
judges, America has long ceased to be democratic and the welfare of the
majority is held for ransom by the personal opinions of a few. Thomas
Sowell comments, "The problem with the 'gay marriage' issue is that the
more fundamental issue is not 'gay marriage.' The real issue is who
should decide such issues -- that is, what kind of country and what kind
of government do we have or want to have? What does democracy mean if
any headstrong minority can violate the laws passed by a majority and
enshrined in centuries of legal precedents? ...The time is long overdue
to start impeaching judges who think their job is to veto laws they
don't like or condone lawlessness that they agree with. The time is also
long overdue to re-examine lifetime appointments of judges, which allows
them to act like little tin gods, at the expense of our freedom and the
country's elected government."
REVERSE REVOLUTION
It's time for a new revolution! The radicalism of
40 years ago has become the mainstream culture of today, so if
America is to avoid the precedents of the life-cycles of previous civilizations, then a reverse revolution is crucial. Those who are not
lost in a quagmire of religious formalism, but live and breathe on the
leading edge of God's will for today, will understand that true
Christianity is, and always has been, counterculture! They trust that
'...an Angel rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm!'
Founding Father, John Adams' words are as
appropriate today as they were over 200 years ago, "But what do we mean
by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution
was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds
and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of
their duties and obligations.... This radical change in the principles,
opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American
Revolution." Now you know why we need a change.

'Songs
from the Secret Place' ('At
the Crossroads') Theatrical
Production has Major Impact at New Jersey City University -
After months of preparation and rehearsals,
the Hope Center Tabernacle of Jersey City, NJ, performed their music,
dance and drama production, 'Songs from the Secret Place' on June 18th at NJCU.
Essentially, a showcase for their new worship CD,
'The Secret Place,' the production was a revolutionary message presented
through original songs from worship minister, Sam Cintron, accompanied
by original choreography, poetry by Pastor Leigh Piatt-Gonzalez
and fine art by renowned Brazilian artist, Duda Penteado. The production
also featured some striking wide-screen video played along with the
music and dance numbers.
Introduced by AG Sectional Head, Pastor John Czubkowski, the show moved along at a fast pace from song to song to a
packed audience in the NJCU Theatre. The night was sponsored by the
university, which caters to 30,000 students.
In attendance were many local dignitaries
including Jersey City’s Acting Mayor, L. Harvey Smith, NJCU President
Carlos Hernandez and many others.
As well as being a vibrant inner-city church, The
Hope Center is also a center for training in the Visual & Performing
Arts. Pastors Mario and Leigh Gonzalez remarked, "At Hope Center
Tabernacle, ministry is not something we do, it’s a way of life. When
Paul addressed the heads at Mars Hill in Athens, he described
Christianity by saying, 'In Him we live. In Him we move. In Him we have
our being.' Ministry is our way of externalizing Paul’s magnificent
obsession... 'Christ in us.'"
Earl
Munyan, Pastor of First Assembly of God in Bayonne sent this
testimony, "I'm not exaggerating when I
say that it was the best concert I have ever been to in my life. I
enjoyed it more than any Broadway or off-Broadway production I've ever
paid money to see... There was no showmanship and the message was clear.
I was amazed from beginning to end and felt re-energized in my
commitment to Christ. ...I was captivated by the way all of the
different forms of art that were employed came together that night. The
music, the choreography, the poetry and prose, the words that were
spoken in between, Duda's artwork... all these things were woven
together into a tapestry that was expressed in the language of the
culture of our day. I was profoundly affected by it. What a blessing!"
In the middle of the "At the Crossroads"
production, I was asked to deliver a monologue based on
the vision of "The Big Wet and the Big Dry" (see
http://www.firepowerint.com/prophecies.htm ) which is part of the
prophetic vision G od
gave me for the Northeast of America, something the Hope Center
believes in.
The night culminated in a large altar call which
saw in access of 200 people respond for salvation and a call to a greater walk with Christ.

A LIFE-CHANGING MESSAGE
AVAILABLE THROUGH FMI...

WHAT IS TRUTH?
Pontius Pilot foreshadowed the intellectual
arrogance of this present age when he asked Jesus the question modern
ethics would prefer not be answered! And yet 'What is truth?' is
perhaps the most important question of all time. Eternity stand and
fall based on our ability to answer it according to a biblical worldview.
Also, you'll learn the difference between a prophet and a politician.

GOD THOUGHTS -
"To live content with small means; to
seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion;
to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to listen to
stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to
think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never;
in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up
through the common -- this is my symphony." - William Henry Channing
