INTRODUCTION
There's still a large number in our society who believe you shouldn't mix religion and politics. This notion has always been slanted more to mean that clergy shouldn't express political opinions, rather than politicians making religious assertions.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright's recent rocketing notoriety has inflicted his liberation theology (a mix of Marxism and Christianity) on all of us and would certainly lend credence to clergy staying out of the political realm. However, when politicians try to borrow from the Bible to support their agendas, most of the time they mess up!

THE AAGV BIBLE

Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi tried to cross the line between politics and religion in her Earth Day news release, “The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, ‘To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.’ On this Earth Day, and every day, let us honor the earth and our future generations with a commitment to fight climate change,” she said.

The problem is, neither that quote nor a close paraphrase can be found in the Bible anywhere! Pelosi used this same 'text' previously, supposedly from the book of Isaiah, peddling her eco-theology in December 2005 and October 2007. Was Pelosi quoting from the KJV Bible? No, we suspect she was reading from the AAGV Bible — the Albert Arnold Gore Version.

EARTH DAY FRAY

The Nobel Peace Prize-winning eco-prophet of doom Al whined last week that the environment hasn’t improved since his 2006 pop-documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.” No improvement? According to Investor’s Business Daily, “This Earth Day finds the world threatened not by rising sea levels, but by rising food prices. Many on the planet are more likely to starve than drown, and we have only Gore’s disciples to blame.”

EARTH WORSHIP

Pelosi abused God's Word to justify putting the earth above God and man. In actual fact, the Bible says in Revelation 11:18 that God will "...destroy those who destroy the earth," which makes God the greatest environmentalist of them all. But that's not where Pelosi was going. We are called to be good stewards of what God has given us, but we are not to worship the creation more that the Creator!

BURN UP OR FREEZE UP!

Mixing political ideology with the Christian world view, as in liberation or eco-theology, always results in error. 2 Corinthians 6:14 asks "...what communion has light with darkness?" God's Word is a living 'Rock!' John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jesus is that 'Rock' and He has a plan which starts and ends with Him!

Global warming has replaced the New Ice Age we were warned about in the Seventies. First we were going to freeze, now we are told we are going to heat up! The real global warning is that one day the Lord of Lords will return to judge all, great and small! That will be the greatest day in history, and when you wake up tomorrow, it will be one day closer! #

Huge Harvest at Healing Rain Gathering - Nearly 20 churches were represented at the quarterly Healing Rain Gathering in Scranton, PA on April 13th. Ray Petts, Senior Pastor, Dickson City Assembly, Dickson City, PA and co-organizer of the event comments, "The Healing Rain event is a venue that provides a platform for apostles, prophets, evangelists, etc. to speak into our region. Bro. Jeff spoke a timely word into the hearts of the local pastors and church body. Healing came in many forms that evening. There was a tremendous response to the altar call; people filled the altar and platform for the healing of generations. Also, there were many salvations and physical healings that took place. The pastors and people were moved to run with the baton!"

Ordination of Executive Pastor at Lighthouse Tabernacle, Staten Island, NY - This report from Pastor Damian Smeragliuolo, "On Sunday, April 27, 2008, Apostle Jeff Beacham ministered at Lighthouse Tabernacle as a new Executive Pastor was ordained. Marian Smeragliuolo, co-founder of the ministry and wife of Damian Smeragliuolo, Senior Pastor, is a gifted administrator, who has been coordinating the activities of the ministry since its founding in November 1993. Pastor Marian is also gifted musically, functioning as our Choir Director, member of our Worship Team, and ministering as a soloist.

Apostle Beacham preached a powerful message about being Chosen of God and the Kingdom purposes that are ours, as we walk out our relationship with the Lord. Several rededicated their lives to the Lord at the altar call, after which, we conducted the ordination. Pastor John Picarello, from House on The Rock was also present, representing our local presbytery.  The entire Leadership Team of Lighthouse Tabernacle is excited about moving forward in a new dimension of anointing and level of influence, with this new addition to our Pastoral Team!"
