EDITORIAL – Wisdom for Dummies

 

INTRODUCTION

With the launch of GenNet, busyness has gotten the best of me this month, and I haven't had time to write an editorial. However, here are some quotes from our new Facebook 'blog,' The Mostly Daily Post of "Wisdom for Dummies."

Discouragement is like gravity - it's everywhere! You don't have to seek it out; it'll find you. It knows your address...!!! Encouragement must be sought out and held tight! A leader's main job is to be an ample provider of encouragement to those who follow, but you can't give it if you don't have it yourself! Be encouraged!

You have heard it said that there is nothing more certain than death and taxes, but I say to you the ticking of time is absolutely certain, cannot be turned back, and cannot be turned off...!!! We all have the same amount of time; it's how we use it that determines fruit or failure!

Saying you're sorry can be risky, but it is absolutely necessary! However, someone once said, "Never spoil an apology with an excuse!"

Relationships make up the economy of the Kingdom of God. They give life; they interchange to bring advancement; they last from now until beyond time. But don't forget - the Cross is vertical and horizontal! Love your 'neighbor' almost as much as you say you love God!!!

Plan on being around for the rest of your natural lifetime, but be ready to go today. Practically, set goals for your life and strive to attain them. Morally, be ready to go at anytime!

Up is up, and down is down! But if I tell you that down is up long enough, you might start to believe it. Who's opinion are you listening to?

Wisdom's closest friend is common sense! That makes political correctness wisdom's greatest opponent!

There are bugs under most rocks, so be careful before you pick one up to throw at someone else. Let him without bugs under his rock throw the first stone!

Treat each day as a present, each hour as a privilege, each minute as precious, each heartbeat as priceless. Each one of us, whether 60 or 16, is only one heartbeat away from eternity.

In a time of shaking, standing firm will be your making. Running away takes you out of the fray, and on the bench you will be quaking!

One word from Heaven is worth more than all the words in the Library of Congress. One minute in His presence is worth more than a lifetime not knowing Him! One soul is worth more than anything else on earth, because the blood of Jesus paid the price!

When God gives you a call, He expects you to answer it.... not let it go to voice mail!!! God's call on your life might come with a price; salvation is free, but the Call may cost you everything!

Fear is attached to the future, an uncertainty of what's ahead! Living in the past won't change what's happened. Fear of the future is futility! 90% of the things people worry about never happen! Approach the future with faith, not fear! Then hear the Master's words, "There's enough to worry about in the 'now' without being overly concerned about the 'next'" (Matt. 6:34).

The 'good ole days' don't really exist, because they weren't as good as you remember! Today is tomorrow's 'good ole day' and right now is as good as it gets! So treat each day as a gift - that's why we call it the present!

Think how good life would be if we could deal with all our issues and put them behind us, where they belong! Why waste our lives getting issues and then having to spend all our time dealing with them...? Life is too short for that, and nothing holds back destiny more than that.... You destiny is not behind you - it's ahead of you!!!
 

 

Melva and I were thrilled with our first GenNet Lead Team Extension Meeting, this past Thursday, June 3rd. We could not have asked for a better launch!

We had young people represented from six states, including a group of eight who made a 9-hour drive from Ohio!

Many contacted us saying how much it meant to them. It was obvious from how everyone passionately shared about what they brought to the table, that Holy Spirit has assembled us all together for such a time as this. GenNet DNA was precious and obvious in all who attended.

The age group was from 18 to early 40s, then a little gap to Melva and me. Many have already signed up and joined!

All on the Lead Team shared their passion and excitement about the future of GenNet. I shared some key values that are a part of our foundation, like humility, conviction, non-religiosity and uncompromising truth.

GenNet is not about what it will cost you in time and money! We are all busy and in a time of tight finances. It's about what you will receive from myself and others of like spirit and passion, who offer a lifetime of experience to you.

I often hear people say things like, "I wish I knew what I know now when I was younger; it would have saved me so much trouble!" That is what GenNet will be for you; enabling you to avoid the mistakes that I, and others, have made, therefore saving you lots of precious time cleaning up afterward. This will also help you maximize your life and potential in God during the time He has allotted to you on earth.

...Not to mention all the key connections that will be made with each other and some very influential ministries, forming a nerve system of relationships that GenNet will make from now on and for eternity!
