EDITORIAL –
Christianity: Philosophy or Cause?
INTRODUCTION
Christianity began as a spiritual movement fueled
by the eye witness of the miraculous, such as the overcoming of death,
supernatural healings, and a new Kingdom being established 'on earth as
it is in Heaven!'
An idea alone cannot split history in two and mark
the measurement of time for the last two thousand years. It was the
undeniable reality of the impact of Jesus' life on those He encountered
that produced a witness that far surpassed the impact of some new
ideology.
GREEKS BEARING GIFTS?
The Greek culture, at the time of Jesus, still
dominated the thinking of many, even though the Roman Empire was
pre-dominant! Greeks loved the exchange of ideas and the matching
of various philosophies, with m
inimal
emphasis on absolutes, much the same as pluralism and relativism does
today.
The invasion of the new spiritual Kingdom that
Jesus brought to earth, complete with its 'cut and dry,' 'black and
white,' 'what you see is what you get' stance, challenged the
compromising morality of the time.
TRUTH PERSONIFIED
People are never prepared to die for the exchange
of ideas. Life is only considered worth sacrificing when an idea has
been outworked in reality and becomes a cause! Christ's cause embodied
all truth and righteousness. He not only stood for the truth, but was
the living Truth, embodied in a man!
That's
the real reason why they killed Him. The light of His truth was so
bright, the world could not look at Him for too long before it became
painful, in the same way as we cannot look at the sun for too long with
the naked eye.
A CAUSE WORTH DEFENDING
Truth is never found in a compromise; it can only
exist in a cause! Nobody gives their life for ideas that can be
compromised. They only make a supreme sacrifice for a cause that's worth
defending!
Christianity is not a religious philosophy - it is
a cause! Philosophy is good for sharing ideas, but a cause is a
position you have to stand for and defend. If you compromise the truth,
you compromise the cause! The cause of Christ is the only cause worth
dying for that guarantees life eternal!

Young people gathered from all over America to
be a part of the annual Compassion Commission Youth Conference at
Rock City Church, Baltimore, MD in the first week of July. I ministered
to them for two nights. During the day, young people went to Baltimore's
inner tough city and served the community by cleaning, repairing, and
providing food and clothing for the local residents. At the end of one
night's meeting, God's presence was so strong that everyone stayed for
another hour. You know that God's in the house, when teenagers won't

GenNet Foundational Meeting - 'The
Presence of God Was So Strong, I Was Ready to Explode!'
Our last GenNet
Foundational Meeting on July 12th and 13th was just outstanding!
Following are two reports from our Lead Team members:
"Last week about 30 champions gathered
together for one of GenNet's foundational meetings. Three
generations from five states came together to encourage, network, and
empower one another. As each person shared their passion and
calling, the room was filled with a strong corporate anointing.
These are frontline people God is using in their circles of influence
to reach people with the love of God.
What I am finding in GenNet meetings is an incredible dynamic!
Although the ages, ministry vehicles, and places we all come from are
distinct, there is the same spiritual DNA. When we get together, we
realize that there are others with like passions to fulfill the
Great Commission! These gatherings release great potential to build
each other up, network, and expand our ministry borders.
The prophetic time on Tuesday saw many encouraged to move forward in
their calling and relationship with God. I'm looking forward to

to it. Some are already claiming that the church must be completely
re-invented. The newly forming youth culture depends less on
scientific and rational thought and tends more toward seeking to
experience spiritual things personally. Those seeking spiritual
