INTRODUCTION
Sometimes it takes more faith to believe
the theories of science than it does to
trust God's Word!
One of the major questions that humans
need to answer is, "where did we come
from...?" It gets back to the origin of
everything. What started this universe
of uncountable galaxies, stars, suns,
planets, moons and whatever else is out
there that we can't see? Science's
latest explanation is the 'Big Bang'
theory!
THE BALL DROPPED!
This explanation basically maintains
that everything in the known and unknown
universe was at one time, fifteen
billion years ago, condensed into a
little ball small enough to fit in your
hand. Then suddenly, in an instant of
time, it just exploded with such a force
that today everything is still expanding
at light speed from the initial impact.
If that is so, I have three questions:
Where did the little ball come from in
the first place...? Who told it to
explode...? Was it just some random
reaction or was there a design and
purpose in the process...?
A LEAP OF FAITH
It takes an enormous amount of 'faith'
to believe that the immeasurable
vastness of the universe and the
uncountable objects it contains are all
a result of random actions and
reactions! Design and intelligence
demand an intelligent designer, an issue
that some parts of the scientific
community recently have gladly embraced,
while others have grudgingly
acknowledged something else at work
other than coincidence, and still others
have held on to a completely non-God
universe.
WHAT HE DECLARED APPEARED!
Faith for humans is still a major
component of the creation account found
in God's Word, but certainly no
challenge to an omnipotent Being! The
power of His Word is limitless. So when
God's Word says that whatever He
declared immediately appeared, it draws
little from my faith tank because I can
take Him at His Word!
BREATHING OUT, BREATHING IN!
Some scientists believe that one day the
universe will stop expanding and begin
to contract, almost like a giant
fireworks explosion where everything
goes up into the air, explodes and then
falls to the ground. The creative force
of God's Word came from the center of
His heart and is presently expanding to
establish His Kingdom, just like the
leaven in the lump of Matthew 13:33.
BACK TO THE FATHER'S HEART
If the expansion/contraction hypothesis
is true, then we can make a spiritual
equivalent! The real 'big bang' was when
He spoke a word and creation popped! It
began as an explosion of His heart and
the final destination for each and every
one of us is to find our way back to the
Father's heart!
