 INTRODUCTION
A diabolical and demonic plan has been unleashed against America! Some have seen the tragic events of September 11 as judgement, but if God sends judgment upon a nation according to its good or evil, then just about every nation would share in His wrath. America is under attack and we must understand the real reasons why!
A JOLTED GIANT
For most of its history the United States has stayed true to its calling, which was to be a nation born for the primary purpose of taking the Gospel to the world. When War started in 1939. America tried to maintain its isolationist policy, but Peal Harbor jolted a sleepy giant into action and mobilized a force that would eventually stand against and defeat the plans of Germany and Japan for world domination. If Hitler had won, the Gospel would have been cancelled and at the very least, we would be speaking German or Japanese today. The disillusion of American impregnability by terrorism on September 11, has again jolted the giant into action. Again it will stand against another ideology that would oppose the Gospel and has its own desires for world domination; militant Islam!
TO BE FOREWARNED IS TO BE FOREARMED!
Wars are always won by the side who has the best intelligence. During World War Two, the tide was turned in favor of the Allies when they managed to acquire a German Enigma code machine. Consequently, they were able to know Hitler's orders before his generals received them. In 2 Kings, chapter 6, we read how the King of Syria was greatly perturbed by what appeared to be a spy in his midst. Every time he made plans for war against Israel his enemy was immediately alerted. This enraged him and "…he summoned his officers and demanded of them, 'will you not tell me which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?' 'None of us, my lord the king,' said one of his officers, 'but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.' (2 Kings 6: 11-12). God, who knows all, revealed the plans of the enemy to Israel through the "…mouths of the prophets".
"IT IS FINISHED!"
When Jesus cried out from the Cross; "It is finished!" this was not an admission of defeat but a cry of victory! It mimicked Roman commanders who used this statement when their armies had triumphed over the enemy. It encouraged their soldiers to put the enemy to flight and to mop up after the battle. From a spiritual perspective, we know that the enemy of our soul was defeated 2000 years ago by the victory of Christ's resurrection. If this is true, then how come there is still gross evil in the world? In response to the question "WHY?" (September 11), Robert Schuller recently said "The World is full of good and evil - take an 'O' out of good and you've got God! Put a little 'd' in front of evil and you've got devil!"
The enemy obviously is still active. He has spent the last 2000 years using his remaining weapon of deception to convince us that he is powerful, but the only power he actually has over us now, is what we let him have!

THE REAL WAR
In Ephesians 6: 10-12, we read; "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
The enemy's plan is to create fear (terrorism) in America. He has been using a diabolical strategy involving two components: The shedding of innocent blood and suicide. When these two components are married together they produce an offspring of fear. Satan has systematically been attacking some of the foundational institutions of this nation trying to weaken it so that it cannot fulfil its destiny.
FEAR AND DECEPTION
First it was the tragedy of Columbine, when two deceived agents of the enemy acted on the promise that the more innocent lives they took with their own, the more demons they would have under their control in Hell. The result; fear in our schools! Shortly after, another deceived agent of Hell walked into the Wedgwood Baptist Church and took six lives and his own. The result; fear in our churches! The all to often murder / suicides in families around America has created fear in the foundational institution of the family.
Now September 11, involving the worst example of the shedding of innocent blood and suicide, has created massive fear in our cities, airline industry and financial system. The hijackers were prepared to die for Islam and were told that all their sins would be forgiven with immediate access to paradise and 40 wives; this is the promise to promote suicide. Life is cheap; if you die it is simply "incha Allah", God's will!
THE COUNTER-ATTACK
If we are to stand against the enemy's plans then we must appropriate to our lives the exhortation found in Ephesians 6: 12-18; "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."
We must pray "on all occasions" to counteract the enemy's strategy of suicide and the shedding of innocent blood, wherever he may attack next. When you are forewarned, you are forearmed and the sting is taken out of fear!
