The Coming Wheel of Re-awakening
-A Prophetic Word for the Northeast of America
THE BIG WET AND THE BIG DRY
In the far northwest of Australia, in the hottest and remotest part of the outback, it can get up to 110 degrees in the shade. Nothing much lives there but a few snakes, lizards and crocodiles. There are only two seasons: the "Big Wet" and the "Big Dry," as they are called in that part of Australia.
The wet season hits around December/January and brings torrential "monsoon" rains. These may last for a couple of months but then there is virtually no rain for the rest of the year. It just gets drier and drier until December comes again, which is the hottest and driest month. At that time, once lush rivers have almost dried up and fish can be seen flopping around in the mud. Sometimes crocodiles are left to fight over the last few flopping fish in dried up lakebeds.
If you had ears that could hear creation speak, you would hear a desperate cry to the heavens to send the reviving rain again or all will soon perish.
Then something interesting happens. Just before the rains come again, a thick band of humidity is pushed down before them from the tropical north. If it was unbearably hot before, now it is extremely uncomfortable too! But then shortly afterwards, the life-giving rains come again and all nature breathes a sigh of relief.
However, because the land is largely flat and compacted from a long period of dryness, it does not readily absorb the torrents of water - flash floods are very common. Ground dwelling creatures have learnt that the very thing that will revive them can also drown them. Many have learnt that they have to go up (into trees) or down (burrow into the earth) or they will get swept away!
I believe this picture can provide us with some insight into the current spiritual state of the Northeast of America! Many have felt that the spiritual environment in the Northeast is hot and dry and have cried out in desperation to God to send the rains of revival. The humidity has been too much for some and they have given up. But God would have us endure because a new season of spiritual lushness will soon come as a result of the fresh rains.
But whatever you do, don't be found on middle ground when they do, or else the very thing that could save you might sweep you away. It's better to be either hot or cold rather than luke-warm!
I believe with all my heart that God will visit the Northeast in our lifetimes. Will it be overnight? Probably not! In my experience the Kingdom of God is built piece by piece, line by line and precept upon precept, by faithful men and women who have His vision for their area deeply branded in their hearts and who have covenanted with others of like spirit and similar vision to see it come to pass. As John 13:35 declares: "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
THE NAZARETH STIGMA
I believe the Spirit of the Lord would have us know that He is the one who has allowed the Northeast of America to become as it's reputation says; a hard, dry spiritual place. Not that He issued orders for this to be, but more that He permitted it to happen much in the same way that He permitted Job to be tested.
He has allowed a "Nazareth Stigma" to arise over this area! The byword spoken by many major and well intentioned ministries has been; "Can any good thing come out of the Northeast?" And so, most of their efforts have been focused in other areas of America or the world considered to be more 'fruitful'.
"It has been my purpose to allow this place to become barren even though it was once a prosperous land spiritually. For I am about to visit this place again! When I do, no man will be able to claim the glory because they have avoided the Northeast like the plague for there was no obvious fruit to be seen.
But the fruit that I have been nurturing is only visible to spiritual eyes and is watered from a deep longing in the souls of a few desperate, faithful saints who have cried out to Me continually. I have stood by and watched their hunger grow in the dry, dark places as the enemy of their souls has done his worst to take them from Me. But I have watched over them as a shepherd stands guard over his flock and protected them when the wolf came to rob, steal and destroy.
The time has come! My visitation will not come by a man's method or strategy, but by My Spirit."
THE VISION OF THE BIG WHEEL
I saw a vision of a giant wheel towering above the land and everything in it. It was rolling slowly into the Northeast of America. This wheel had many teeth around its outer rim, like the teeth of a clock's internal gears. There were four thick spokes joining the outer rim to the hub.
God showed me that this huge structure represented THE COMING WHEEL OF REAWAKENING!
The teeth on the wheel represented all the ministries that have heard the call and, in obedience, have already, or soon will relocate to the Northeast. Among the teeth were also many ministries from this area who are being sharpened and prepared.
The four thick spokes represented four ingredients that are the fruits of hunger and dryness. They were: PRAYER, PURPOSE, POWER AND PASSION. The hub they were attached to, and revolving around, was called UNITY! Every ingredient of this giant wheel was integrated and interdependent.
PRAYER to capture the attention of God!
PURPOSE attained from hearing His heart!
POWER to enable the outworking of His purposes!
PASSION to move us out from apathy to activity!
UNITY to counteract the Spirit of Independence!
As I watched the Wheel turn, the "teeth" on the outer rim were plowing up the hard dry ground of the Northeast of America, preparing it for new seed and for the rains soon to come.
Lord, Let the wheel role!
